The procedural vote fell short of the 60 needed to open floor debate. The Democrats who spent months negotiating the text — Gillibrand, Warner, Booker, Warnock, Gallego, Alsobrooks and Cortez Masto — all voted no: the bloc that was supposed to deliver seven votes delivered none. It failed over ethics language on officials' crypto holdings, not the SEC/CFTC framework itself — and the market had priced it in, with Polymarket odds halving overnight to 17–18%. Day after: Tillis switched to no only to file a motion to reconsider (real support: 50); senators point to the November lame-duck session; the SEC is drafting adviser-custody rules regardless; Bitcoin −4% to ~$76,000, no cascade. For holders nothing changes.
Result & what happens now → Full live coverage →A phishing wave is hitting Trezor newsletter subscribers — four identical copies landed in our own inbox. The emails claim a "critical STM32 entropy vulnerability" in Trezor devices and push a browser "check tool" that asks for your recovery phrase. It's fabricated: the technical story is lifted from the real Coldcard incident and pinned on Trezor, and the emails went out through a compromised third-party email provider — Trezor has confirmed the impersonation. The rule that saves you: no legitimate company will ever ask you to type your seed phrase into a website. If you entered yours anywhere, move your funds to a fresh wallet immediately.
Why these attacks were predictable →Buy any Kraken Prop evaluation between September 9–22 and each confirmed purchase earns a sweepstakes entry (up to 3), with a $20,000 total prize pool split among 56 winners. Context worth knowing: evals start from $20, leverage just doubled to 10x on BTC, Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 — and Kraken Prop has now paid out over $2.5 million to funded traders since launch (live counter on their site).
Our sober notes: there's also a free entry route (no purchase necessary, up to 3 entries). Kraken Prop is an unregulated service, eval fees are non-refundable per attempt, and most applicants don't pass on the first try — buy an eval because you want the eval, not the raffle (referral code hci works at signup too). Not available in the UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India and some other regions. Read our honest Prop review first.
Start a Prop eval →Crypto.com opened 24/7 trading in tokenized versions of 1,500 US stocks and ETFs — NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, GLD and more — with fractional access from $1 for eligible EEA users, underlying shares held by US-regulated broker Alpaca, and zero-commission trading for an introductory period.
Our sober note: tokenized stocks track prices 1:1 but are a different legal instrument than shares — spreads and FX costs still apply, and eligibility varies by country. New to the shares-vs-tokens difference? We explained it honestly here.
Explore on Crypto.com →The $116M Coldcard seed-flaw theft has its first real lead — the attacker used a paid account at a blockchain data service whose internal logs matched the theft pattern, and about 1,082 BTC from the first wave still sits untouched. If you generated a seed on a Coldcard between March 2021 and the July patch, migrate your funds now.
The full 2026 wallet incident story →Eligible EEA customers can trade 7,000+ US-listed stocks and 700+ tokenized xStocks alongside 600+ cryptos in one Kraken account, commission-free under a MiFID II authorization — the only crypto-native platform in Europe offering real shares and their tokenized twins side by side.
Signing up? Referral code hci works too if you'd rather type than click. Our sober note: "commission-free" still means spreads and currency-conversion costs, and access requires meeting eligibility terms. What launched, shares vs. xStocks, and what the asterisk costs — explained here.
