This Privacy Policy explains how HomeCryptoInvest ("we", "us", or "our"), operated at homecryptoinvest.com, collects, uses and protects information when you visit our website. What changed on 12 October 2026: an earlier version of this page said we did not use Google Analytics. That was wrong — Google Analytics 4 had been installed on the site. We corrected this page and changed the site so that Google Analytics now loads only after you accept it in the cookie banner.
1. Who We Are
HomeCryptoInvest is an independent website with reviews, guides and news about cryptocurrency exchanges, hardware wallets and tax software. The data controller is Libor Pavlicek (HomeCryptoInvest), an individual based in the Czech Republic, European Union.

2. What Data We Collect
Data you provide directly
- Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter. The form sends it through our own Cloudflare Worker to Brevo, our email platform (see section 5).
- Questions to Harvey — the text you type into our AI assistant (see below).
- Game leaderboards — if you submit a score in one of our browser games, the nickname and score you enter are stored in Cloudflare (Workers KV) and shown publicly on the leaderboard. Do not use your real name if you don't want it shown.
Data collected automatically
- Hosting and network — every visit passes through Cloudflare (content delivery and security) and our web host Hostinger. Both process your IP address and technical request data (browser, requested page, time) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, and keep standard server or security logs under their own policies. We use this only in aggregate (for example, total requests or which crawlers visit) and do not use it to identify individual visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Google Analytics 4 — only with your consent. If you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to measure visits: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, the site that referred you and clicks on links, including links to our partners. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses for users in the EU. Data may be processed by Google in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We keep Google Analytics data for no longer than 14 months, the maximum Google Analytics allows. If you click "Reject" or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time (see section 3).
- Google Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com), which receive your IP address when the font is requested. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Kraken price widget — the live price strip on our homepage is an embedded widget loaded from kraken.com. Kraken receives your IP address and browser data and may set its own cookies under its own privacy notice.
- Harvey AI assistant — Harvey runs on a Cloudflare Worker (hci-advisor.liborpavlicek1975.workers.dev). The question you submit is sent to the Anthropic API to generate an answer. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse (a limit on questions per hour). We do not store individual Harvey questions on our own servers. Cloudflare and Anthropic process the request under their own policies.
What we do not do
- We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing or tracking pixels.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their marketing.
3. Cookies and Similar Storage
- Your consent choice — stored in your browser's localStorage (
hci_consent), not sent to any server. Strictly necessary. - Small site preferences — for example, that you closed our partner bar (localStorage, 7 days). Not sent to any server.
- Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_<ID>) — set only after you click "Accept"; they expire after up to 2 years. If you later reject, we delete them. - Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (such as
__cf_bm) to protect the site from bots. - Third parties — affiliate partners (such as Kraken, Bitvavo, Coinmate, Ledger, Trezor and others) may set their own cookies when you follow a link to their website, and Kraken may set cookies through the homepage price widget. These are governed by their own privacy policies.
Change your choice: open cookie settings. You can also clear this site's data in your browser at any time.
4. Affiliate Links
This website contains affiliate links to third-party services (such as Kraken, Ledger, Trezor, Koinly and others). If you click one and sign up or buy, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Our links may include UTM parameters (for example utm_source=hci) so the partner can tell which page sent the visit; that data is processed by the partner and its affiliate platform. If you have accepted analytics, Google Analytics also records that you clicked an outbound link. Please review the partner's privacy policy before giving them personal information.
5. Newsletter (Brevo)
If you subscribe to The Crypto Edge newsletter, your email address is stored and processed by Brevo (France) as our data processor. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- We use your email only to send the newsletter you signed up for.
- You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- We never sell or share your email for anyone else's marketing.

6. Your Rights Under GDPR
- Access — ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (for example, your newsletter email).
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Objection and restriction — object to processing based on legitimate interest, or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, for analytics (cookie settings above) or the newsletter (unsubscribe link), without affecting processing before withdrawal.
- Complaint — you can complain to the Czech data protection authority (ÚOOÚ) at uoou.gov.cz.

7. Data Retention
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe; then removed from our active lists within 30 days.
- Google Analytics data (only with consent): no longer than 14 months.
- Game leaderboard nicknames and scores: while the leaderboard runs; ask us to delete yours at any time.
- Hosting, Cloudflare, Anthropic and other providers keep their own logs under their policies.
